My first job after earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University in Law & Society, was at a counseling center working with children and adolescents. It was that experience in which I realized that this field was my calling! I then worked in addictions as I started my journey into graduate school. In 2004, I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW), later earning a LCSW to practice independently in the State of Indiana.
While working in a specialty clinic, for over half of my 20-year career, I treated clients who were affected by Serious Mental Illness (SMI), and those affected by PTSD. I went on to treating clients affected by a variety of additional mental health issues in general practice, and use treatments that have been shown to be effective in treating trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
Currently, in private practice, my primary focus is treating adults affected by trauma, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
I entered this field to help others learn tools to improve their mental health in order to better their life functioning, interpersonal relationships, and maintain progress.
